How To Install Netgear EX2700 Using The Netgear Genie?
Here, in this post we
will give you step to step instructions to setup Netgear EX2700using the Netgear Genie user interface.
- First step is to place the extender and wifi router in
the same room.
- Make sure you have a live internet connection coming
from the main router.
- Plug the wifi extender and wait until the power LED
turns solid green and stable.
If it the extender
does not turn on then press the On/Off button on the side panel of the extender
for 5 to 10 seconds.
- Connect a wired or wireless devices to the EX2700
- For wireless connection, connect with the wireless
network name, NETGEAR_EXT which is unsecure. If the device LED turns
solid green that means it is connected successfully.
- For wired connection, connect the Ethernet cable on
the LAN port of the EXT and the LAN port LED should blink.
- Open a web browser on your device, this will
automatically take you to Netgear Genie smart setup wizard.
- If it will not take you to the Netgear Genie setup
wizard while open a web browser, then don’t get panic. Type
www.mywifiext.net in search bar and press enter.
- Log in page will appear.
- Provide the login details. Type admin for the username
and password for the PASSWORD.
- After fill the details click on login button.
- Another window might appear, click continue in order to
run the setup.
- Wait for the Netgear Genie scanning your wifi network.
- After 1 or 2 minutes it will show the available
networks within the range of the extender.
- Select the network that you want to extend and click on
continue.
- Type the password of your main wireless router and clck
continue.
- By default the SSID is the name of your wireless
network followed by _EXT at the end.
- After you have connected your wireless devices like
computer, laptop, Smartphone or tablet to the new network, click finish to
complete the installation.
- At Last, move your EX2700 extender where you want to be, but make sure that it is in the between and the wireless devices in order to get good signal strength.
